The Brazilian College of Animal Nutrition (CBNA), a scientific, cultural and educational research society, gathers Brazilian professionals, researchers and organizations operating in the field of agribusiness and animal nutrition. CBNA was founded on December 5, 1985 to promote the dissemination of knowledge and research in Animal Nutrition and thus to improve and enhance the technical level of its members. At the same time, CBNA aims to gather the people and organizations which operate in the animal feed industry on a larger scale.
CBNA's objectives include, among others, support publications, conferences, specialization courses, and scientific congresses. It aims to advise the public opinion and the government on technical issues related to animal nutrition, to promote and improve the integration between agencies, academic and research institutions and the industry and producers, as well as to maintain technical and professional relationships with associations that feature similar goals. CBNA further suggests current topics of immediate interest for research. In summary, CBNA is an agile and up-to-date communication vehicle and scientific development organization in line with the Brazilian socio-economic reality.
In its twenty-nine years of existence, CBNA has held more than sixty scientific congresses of the highest importance that involve all the different areas of animal nutrition. Its publications stand out as reference documents for research and teaching, as well as for the development of the animal feed industry. That background shows that CBNA successfully concentrates the efforts and skills of professors, researchers, technicians and administrators, which has made it a renowned organization in both the private sector and in government circles.
As a nonprofit organization, CBNA depends on the annual contribution of its affiliates to ensure its minimal maintenance as an institution. It therefore often relies on the sponsorship of the animal nutrition industry and the support from funding agencies of scientific and technical activities to partially fund its initiatives.
Headquartered in its own building at Rua General Osório 1212, Room 202, in Campinas, SP, CBNA is at the disposal of professionals who operate in the public and private sectors and feature a direct interest in animal nutrition and related sciences. Information on membership registration may be obtained directly at the CBNA secretary office by e‑mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
